So for years now I have been selling on eBay and Amazon and other sales channels. And there has always been a couple of things that were the big issues in scaling and being able to be quick to market.

1.) CONSISTENTLY Sourcing Good Products
2.) Correctly Marketing Products for Sale
3.) Understanding Business Operations, Logistics, HR

How to Avoid Spinning Plate Syndrome in Your E Commerce Biz

For Sourcing we were like everyone else. Researching online web sites, creating spreadsheets, coming up with ideas. Ordering samples, attending trade shows, shipping, negotiating prices, worrying about payments, etc.

Marketing took efforts in branding, packaging, photographing, keyword research, descriptions, but the real secret sauce was advertising to people who wanted to buy the products.

The business side has taxes, inventory management, HR, and the list goes one….

In the logistic arena we have shipping, supply chain management, and even more items to worry about……and this is just high level look at all the spinning plates you need to be successful.

Is your head hurting yet?

How to Avoid Spinning Plate Syndrome in Your E Commerce Biz

Spinning plate syndrome is when a freshly minted self proclaimed entrepreneur runs around trying to be an expert in and do all the jobs required to create and grow a new young business. I know I was like that when I was younger but learned at an early age that I would rather have 1% of 100 men’s effort than 100% of my own. I had to learn to be a leader, and a teacher, and a negotiator in order to succeed. And every time I forgot those basic rules I failed.

Yes it seems easier to just do it yourself but it is not. People are the key to success, weather by partnerships with great companies that can help you with areas of your business you need help in and maybe take some of the burden off your shoulders. Or with employees or business partners who have strengths different than your own.

This is why GDW was born, why we have put systems and people and processes in place to take as many of the sourcing, and supply side challenges as we can off your plate. We help with some of the marketing work, and most if not all of the logistics off your plate so you could focus on what you do best. If your business processes equal say 10 spinning plates and you’re running around just trying to keep the plates from falling you’re limiting your company’s momentum and growth. If partnering with a company like GDW can take the shipping, inspection, packaging, labeling, printing, bundling, aggregation, photography, and even sourcing plates from your daily grind how much farther ahead can you get?

GDW Inc.
