Our Blog

So for the past several months I have been posting about my launch sourcing and launch strategies for launching over 50 products in the shortest amount of time possible. As many of you know my goal is to launch 100 product this year.

Why am I doing this?

Because once you hit a certain point in your business is gets harder to move the proverbial needle in top line revenue and bottom line profits and I saw need in this space for someone willing to talk about the real costs, real effort, and effective strategies needed to get past the hobby of being in this business and how to grow a stable and effective company.

Here is an account of where we are at right now.

  • We have sourced over 50 different SKU’s (several variations of some products are included in this number)
  • Received these goods via ocean freight
  • Taken photographs and completed most Photoshop work
  • Added the listings to a new Amazon account
  • Created brands and logo’s for each.
  • Packaged using the poor mans PL process we developed
  • Shipped over half into FBA
  • Created promo codes for each
  • Created PPC campaigns for each

This is a high level overview of all the steps needed to get to this point. More details on these processes were provided in webinars available for free via our website and mastermind group.

And for the last 2 weeks roughly we have been launching these with various launch strategies, but mostly we have partnered with Viral Launch and our account manager is working with us on our launch strategies.

So we have 11 PPC campaigns running, and 13 launches happening over the last 2 weeks. Currently we have 3 more launches starting this week and have completed 5.

We have sold close to $12,000.00 dollars in products, the launches have cost about $7,000.00 in rebated promos.

We have proportionally given away 693 products so far for a cost of just under $1,200.00

Amazon fees are currently at a little over $3,500.00

The launches have cost so far in service fees $850.00

FBA fees and Advertising are just over $750.00

Total Launch Costs so far $13,300.00

and for the first 2 weeks we were in the red a total of just over $1300.00

Of course I did not take into account FBA prep costs which would skew the numbers about $700.00 based upon average prep costs and put us about $2,000.00 into the red in the first two week.

The Good News!

But the good news is today we went into the green as we started seeing more organic sales on most of the first products launched and the promos for those items dissipated.

Right now we are page 1 or 2 for most of the completed launches, several look like they will continue well on their own and so we just launched the Automated PPC campaigns on those that completed the promotional launch. So we have a zero PPC costs on these product right now but that will change in the near future as we work to make PPC the only remaining marketing we need to use.

I expect that we may have a couple on the more aggressive markets that we will do a second launch on and they will gain rank and increase sales accordingly in the next 2 weeks and I will keep you up to date on those as we proceed.

So as you can see we are playing the long game here, and it takes money to get products, launch them, and sell them. But if this is the majority of costs we should see increased profitability over the next 4 to 6 weeks and just in time for the Q4 purchase trip to China where we will stock up on at least 30+ products to round out our 100+ product launch goal of 2016.

What does this mean to our top line revenue? Based upon market demand for the products we are launching about 250k – 500k + a month in additional top line revenue mid next year. Meaning the investment of roughly 50k should pay us back in less than a year and if done right maybe by end of Q4.

So what are the top 5 takeaways?

1.) Understand what it takes to launch your products before you buy.

2.) It costs money up front, but the long term payout is well worth it.

3.) It will take us about 4 months to see stable profitable products from the time we source in China to we complete launches.

4.) Understand the long game is what you want, but that long game is shorter than you think.

5.) YOU WIN ON THE BUY and you can only do that by sourcing direct.

If you have any specific questions please feel free to comment below and I will do my best to get back with you. The goal to launch 150 product this year is in play, and 50 in 2 months is completely crazy, but I would rather shoot for 50 and fall short than shoot for 1 or none. Action of any type is better than sitting on the sidelines wishing.

I will continue to post about the 50+ product launch in 60 day adventure as my goal for the year is to do this 3 times and launch well over 100 new products in multiple categories and grow the heck out of the beast and automate launching new products as much as possible like a well oiled machine…

So in hearing about how I am launching all these products so fast are there questions you may have about why, what, how? Feel free to comment below.
