As I told everyone when I started this that I would keep you up to date on the large volume launch project with the products I purchased Jan 12th to the 19th while in China.
But to help others who were not privy to that information here goes – On Jan 12th this year I went to China with a mentor of mine to learn how we added so many new products to his Amazon stores so fast. Everyone I knew was teaching the whole Alibaba, online aribitrage or retail arbitrage deal. I was peaked out at 5 million and wanted to learn what the guys who were doing 10 million plus a year were doing differently.
So we go to YiWu home of one of the first and largest markets in China. 70,000 vendors under roofs, mostly inexpensive durable goods, I also had an ulterior motive to open a warehouse to do sourcing, inspection, and prep work for customers who use my prep company GDW.
So in 6 days of being there, 3 days researching and 3 days shopping I spent my budget and came home satisfied i had some good products, paid less than if I had done the same online, and would speed up the process of finding and launching products x the power of 10.
As many of you already know we were able to get samples of every product purchased sent to my office in Houston from our new Office/Warehouse in China.
So within 4-5 days of returning on the 19th I had 50+ samples in my hands and on Feb 1st the container with my goods left Ningbo for LA.
So immediately I went to work on main photo shots using my Nikon and a cheap light box.
Then I sent those photos to a guy on fiver I use and have them touched up and backgrounds removed for 5.00 each. (he was very happy as we did over 500 photos)
We have received all of those pics back now and sent the samples to the professional photographer friend of mine to take action shots of all the products…..he is still working on them, but the proofs so far look very good.
Then I created a spreadsheet with pertinent data and sent a link to all the main white background photos to my VA today so she can start the keyword research and finalizing the listings.
So the goal is to have the base listing, main photo, and lifestyle photos already done in Amazon.com so all we need to do is process the goods to go to FBA and get moving.
Our products in bulk are due to arrive on March 1 (give or take a little)
So far we are on target to do a good launch of 50 or so products within 60 days from the time I left China.
What I still have left to do is determine the launch strategies for all of the products, PPC, Social Media, Email, FB, Viral, etc.
Build landing pages as needed for specific product being advertised elsewhere, yes I plan on selling some of these off Amazon or use external adds to drive traffic to the listing.
Email campaigns finalization for current customers for each product, and segmentation of my list. I am going to make discount offers to my existing customers first not some paid launch services and I am not going to give more than a 20% discount. Why give strangers great deals when you have actual customers you can make happy with a great offer.
So right now feels like I am on track to hit the 60 day deadline….but you never know!
I will continue to post about the 50+ product launch in 60 day adventure as my goal for the year is to do this 3 times and launch well over 100 new products in multiple categories and grow the heck out of the beast and automate launching new products as much as possible like a well oiled machine..
