launch

Each week I am trying to update everyone on my apparently audacious goal this year, which was to set out at the end of January to go directly to China, source a bunch of products, get them on a boat before Chinese New Year, get them back to the US, and launched before I leave to go back to China at the end of March or less than 60 days. That is like launching 1 product a day for 50 days.

To bring you up to speed. We did successfully get to China and got most of our orders on the boat before CNY. It actually went to sea on 2/1/16 and is still in transit. We did get samples for all but 1 of my product shipped to me via DHL from the warehouse in China. So we have been doing all the work leading up to the arrival and prep of the products.

Last week I talked about what we did that week and at the time it looked like we were on track. Some things are moving slower that I thought they would, but we are still moving in a good direction. I am getting concerned about launching all of them before I leave to go with a bunch of you to China to show you how I source and mastermind with you all each night on finding and launching products on Amazon.

Here is a list of what we are working on now.

1.) PL Product Launch Spreadsheet (Done today)

2.) Keywords (Done 2/29 )

3.) Main Amazon White Photos (Done 2/15)

4.) Live Action Photos (Should complete next week)

5.) Call Outs and PL protection on photos (just starting. should complete 1-2 weeks)

6.) Hanging Tag Design (complete for initial product launches, printing quotes in process)

7.) Inserts Design (In design process, printing quotes in process)

8.) External Shopping Cart Launch Platform (Platform is up, products being populated, testing mailing platform, merchant accounts etc.)

9.) Pre Launch emails (VIP club invite emails done, individual product emails in process)

10.) Product Descriptions (Developed after keyword research, mostly done should finish this week)

11.) Packaging (half of the products are good to go, still have design work on 20 products)

12.) Off Amazon marketing (strategy is done, initial ad work being developed)

13.) Amazon PPC Strategy (good to go)

As you can see we still have a lot of work to do and I am sure I am missing something. Luckily I use teamwork to keep my projects updated, and work with team mates and external VA’s. One of my biggest concerns is I still have not received the goods yet, we are 31 days since the goods shipped, I hope we get them in the next couple of days as any delays longer may cost us valuable time in prepping these goods and delay some of the launches until I get back from China in April.

And of course there is also the issue with customers goods coming into GDW ahead of my goods. My guys know we always process customers goods ahead of our own. That could throw a wrench in things as we show 7 inbound shipments in the next week, 1 is ours the rest are customers. If they all arrive at the same time mine takes a back seat until we finish the customers goods, we are fast but it could eat up a few days as some of the shipments are container sized.

So this part of the product launch process has a lot to do with listing, packaging, and marketing. Previously it was about sourcing, and shipping, or the logistics side of the business. I expect the next portions should deal with more logistics as we begin prepping these goods for Amazon. With new label printers, new label design software, and new poly bagging capabilities I hope to have fewer slow downs on that side of the house, but as with anything new we are bound to have challenges as people learn to use them efficiently.

Sometimes I wonder if I would be happier working for a big company? Then I remember when I did a couple of times in my life and that feeling goes away fast. If your not running 100 miles and hour with your hair on fire, well then your not living in my book! Constantly challenge yourself and people around you to be better, do better, do more. That is what an entrepreneur  is about, that is why entrepreneurs developed the internet, Facebook, Amazon, Google, etc. So go out and change the world, but to change the world you must first change yourself and the way you think. I am changing my ideas of what is possible and how I used to do things. You can too.

If you have any specific questions please feel free to comment below and I will do my best to get back with you. The goal to launch 150 product this year is in play, and 50 in 2 months is completely crazy, but I would rather shoot for 50 and fall short than shoot for 1 or none. Action of any type is better than sitting on the sidelines wishing.

I will continue to post about the 50+ product launch in 60 day adventure as my goal for the year is to do this 3 times and launch well over 100 new products in multiple categories and grow the heck out of the beast and automate launching new products as much as possible like a well oiled machine..

So in hearing about how I am launching all these products so fast are there questions you may have about why, what, how? Feel free to comment below.

Would you benefit from launching more products faster? Come to China with me and learn to source like a pro, but also mastermind with me every night and learn how to determine good products and launch them. gdwinc.com/china-super-sourcing/
